During a recent chat withEllen DeGeneres, “Stay With Me” crooner,Sam Smithtalks about his James Bond theme song and why he’s taking a break from music.
“It’s actually a really recent decision,”he told Ellen.
“This could change. I change my mind all the time, but I kind of decided a few months ago that I need to have a little bit of a break.”
Sam now plans to take a full year hiatus from the music scene. But not because of any big drama, or any damage to his vocal chords after surgery, but for what’s actually a totally reasonable reason. He just needs to live his life for a bit, basically.
“My music is so personal and I need to live my life,”
said Sam.
“I basically need to kiss some more boys so I can write some songs.”
And probably break up with some more boys. You know, for the emotional ballads. He concluded:
“I need to go and make the stories so I can write about them.”
