NAIJATOOMUCH - FULL DETAILS ABOUT CULTISM IN NIGERIA AND HOW IT STARTED

Naija too much don show with another exclusive Tori Wey go teach every student sense for Nigeria. The NTA network news had just been completed by the duo Cyrill stober and Ruth Benamisiaopia. Reverend James Akinwale Akinyemi stood up from the settee he had sat on since 9:00pm when the news started. He walked reflectively to the center of the spacious sitting room and stopped. He wanted to sit down again but later changed his mind and entered his bedroom instead. The room, located on the right hand side of the sitting room contained a seven inches bed, wardrobe, dressing table and all other conveniences. His wife - Folake - though has a room of her own shares this room with him. He entered and sat on the edge of the bed still in deep reflection. Suddenly, he stood up, picked up a bunch of keys, his torch and bible which he had kept on a small stool in the room since 8:00pm when he came back from the revival going on in his church. He called out to his wife who had been very busy in the kitchen, "Dear, i want to get to the church, i'll be back soon". Folake was surprised and questioned him, "Daddy, but we came back from the church just about an hour ago? Why are you going to the church and i'll be back soon". with this statement barely out of his mouth, he stormed out of the house. Folake knew then that something had happened. She could not recollect when her husband addressed her as "Woman" last. She Knew that her husband was going to pray, but could not just figure out what the subject matter could be and what made it so urgent. Reverend and Mrs. James Akinwale Akinyemi live in the vicarage of Ascension along Olorunseyi road in Ayepe. The church and the vicarage are located on an expanse of land which is close to three plots . At that time of the night, there were no members of the congregation around. Apart from this family of four, the only person present again was the night watchman at the gate. The light in his cubicle could be seen from the sitting room. The church itself is just about a stone's throw from the mission house. In fact, most visitors of the vicar and his wife often prefer having their services in the sitting room to going into the chapel. However, this is one thing Reverend Akinyemi will never condone. Once you are in the vicarage you must attend services in the church. CONTINUE READING THIS STORY HERE.......

History, CAUSES,EFFECTS,ORIGIN, SYMBOL, CONSEQUENCES Of Cultism/confraternities In Nigeria - Education

In Nigeria, a confraternity is a group that is nominally university-based, though 'street and creek' confraternities began in the 1990s. The first confraternity, the Pyrates Confraternity was created as a social organization for promising students. However, as new confraternities were formed, they became increasingly violent through the 1970s and 1980s. By the 1990s, many confraternities largely operated as criminal gangs, called "campus cults" in Nigeria. Besides normal criminal activity, confraternities have been linked to political violence, as well as the conflict in the Niger Delta. In no particular order, here are the "Top 7 Confraternities in Nigeria and their History" Pyrate Confraternity Ahoi-Seadog In 1952, Wole Soyinka and a group of six friends (Ralph Opara, Ikhehare Aig-Imokhuede, Sylvanus Egbuchie, Nathaniel Oyelola, Pius Oleghe, Olumuyiwa Awe) formed the Pyrate Confraternity at the elite University College, Ibadan, then part of the University of London. According to the Pyrates, the "Magnificent Seven", as they called themselves, observed that the university was populated with wealthy students associated with the colonial powers and a few poorer students striving in manner and dress to be accepted by the more advantaged students, while social life was dictated by tribal affiliation. Soyinka would later note that the Pyrates wanted to differentiate themselves from "stodgy establishment and its pretentious products in a new educational institution different from a culture of hypocritical and affluent middleclass, different from alienated colonial aristocrats". The organization also known as the National Association of Seadogs (NAS) adopted the motto "Against all conventions", the skull and crossbones as their logo, while members adopted confraternity names such as "Cap'n Blood" and "Long John Silver". When fellow students protested a proposal to build a railroad across the road leading to the university, fearing that easier transportation would make the university less exclusive, the Pyrates successfully ridiculed the argument as elitist. Roughly analogous to the fraternities and sororities of North America, the Pyrates Confraternity proved popular among students, even after the original members moved on. Membership was open to any promising male student, regardless of tribe or race, but selection was stringent and most applicants were denied. For almost 20 years, the Pyrates were the only confraternity on Nigerian campuses. Beliefs and sayings: Odas is Odas (010) No Friend, No Foe (NFNF) Absolute No Lagging (ANL) Members are known as: Ahoy, PC, etc Buccaneers Association of Nigeria (BAN) Alora—Sealords In 1972, Bolaji Crew (Code-named “Late Ahoy Rica Ricardo”) and others were expelled from the Pyrates for failing to meet expected standards. Carew went on to found the Buccaneers Confraternity (also called the National Associations of Sea Lords), largely copying the Seadogs' structure, symbols and ceremonies. A major impetus for the creation of new confraternities was the fact that members of the new groups simply did not meet the high academic and intellectual standards set by the Seadogs, and thus considered the original organization to be elitist.. Different notorious cult groups had emerging without check from the concerned authority, unleashing terror on humanity and posterity. Some beliefs and sayings: No prize no pay No brothers in the wood No laughing on board Blood for blood Let the devil that lead you guide you They have other sayings, which are basically thereby to make new members feel they made the right choice in belonging to a fraternity with such high code of conduct and discipline. Members are known as: Fine boys, Ban Boys, Alora, Bucketmen, Lords, etc Supreme Vikings Confraternity (SVC) Aro-Mates The Supreme Vikings Confraternity (National Association of Adventurers or, alternately, De Norsemen Club of Nigeria) was formed by three young men 1982 who were former members of the Buccaneers at the University of Port Harcourt. They have the following code-names: Rising angel Eric De Red Troppence It was also called victory COSSA presently the Alpha Marine patrols. Beliefs and saying: Blood on the high sea Singing songs of Hojas Never to hang a leg Even in the face of death. Members are referred to as: Aro-mates, Adventurers, Vultures, e.t.c.

Investigation has shown that it was the borrowed notion that was imported to Nigeria. Some of their beliefs and saying includes: The Black man will be freed with an axe No phyuk ups Forgiveness is a sin Don’t betray your brother in the hood Obey before complain or Abeyance He who price must pay Members are referred to as: Aye Axe-men, Seven (7) or Amigos Mafia Confraternity Ciao-Sons The Mafia Confraternity aka The Family Fraternity- COSANOSYRA was formed in 1978 at the University of Ilorin in Kwara State, but started operation in Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife in 1980. SEE THE REASON WHY LINDA IKEJI CARRY WIZKID MATTER ENTER POLICE STATION (SEE WETIN LINDA TALK)

Shuuu.... Ah must blog this one... Of my correct people.. See wetin Linda write below about the police case wey dey between her and Wizzy bobo (wizkid)... Carry cold juice, dey drink am small small...

I'm sure many of you have read that the police is now involved in my issue with Wizkid. Yes, I reported his public threat to me two Sundays ago to the Lagos State Commissioner of Police and I want to explain why I did it! Please pay attention and keep an open mind.
I've read a lot online from people saying I don't like Wizkid. Even Wizkid himself thinks I don't like him. Why he or anyone would think so is puzzling to me to be honest. Apart from his achievements after he started insulting me online a few weeks ago...everything else, every success Wizkid has recorded in the last 3/4 years is on LIB. All the awards, all the record breaking feats, his sold out concerts, his foreign magazine features, and collaborations, everything that has built him up to the young man he is today is on LIB. Please verify! Search my blog. Please continue...
I was a huge Wizkid fan. The only song I danced harder to than his 'Dance For Me' track was Fuse ODG's 'Antenna and Kiss Daniel & DJ Shabzy's Raba. So, no, I had no dislike for Wizkid. But about a year ago, I noticed his indirect snide remarks at me...and when some other music star beefed with me, Wizkid showed his support and made disrespectful comments. That was when I noticed he had issues with me... but that didn't stop me from writing about him and celebrating him.
Now to the issue at hand. When I reported that he was served quit notice at his Lekki home, I stated fact and I didn't write it out of malice. It's not everyday you get exclusive stories...and I'm sure any other blogger who got the story first would also have published it. So, there was no beef, I was just doing my job. A day or so after I wrote this story, Wizkid went on my instagram page to call me names and lied that I slept with some director of his...which I have said before is 1000% lies! But the insult and lies is not why the police is now involved.
Here's the thing; You can insult me, insult my family, call me any names you like, even lie that I slept with your forefathers...but don't threaten me. If you threaten me, I will act!
I read people online saying that I reported to the police because I am scared of Wizkid. No, my darlings, I am not afraid of Wizkid. Though I do not take his threats lightly. I went to the authorities for two reasons...and please young boys of our generation, pay attention to what I am about to write below.
You see, violence against women and threat of violence against women is not okay. Threatening harm to someone in a public space is a criminal act in every country of the world, including Nigeria. I bet some of you didn't know that, yeah? You can not publicly threaten someone with harm. You will only get away with it if your victim doesn't report to the authorities. If they do, you will have a case with the police and I promise you, the police take these things seriously.
I reported this case to the authorities because I want our young men to know this is not okay. You should not raise your hands on a woman. You shouldn't even threaten to raise your hands on a woman. Wizkid wrote that he would send his 16 year old cousin to beat the shit out of me. Letting Wizkid get away with it is basically telling our young men that this is okay...and it's not!
After Wizkid made the threat to me, I saw a lot of teen boys hailing and applauding him. To them, this was okay. If their idol can threaten a woman with harm, and use derogatory words, they also can do it...and that's how the circle of abuse of women continues. Women being called 'smelly pussy' trended online for a day or two! Little boys were happy to use the words. Sad!
It is appalling to me that anyone, especially women, would cheer Wizkid on. When he wrote RIP Linda, I saw a few young girls write same, laughing. This is not a laughing matter. It doesn't matter whether you like me or not! This is not about Linda Ikeji. This is about abuse of women which has eaten deep into our society, so deep that it has now been accepted as normal.....

Mean the tori wey she dey yarn goes on none stop.... I pray dey find solution to Der matter

Sagay talk say Saraki's move on CCB,CCT bill Dey Very Disgusting

The Senate is passing a bill to reduce the power of the CCB and CCT

image

The move is suspected to frustrate the agencies because Senator Saraki is facing trial

Professor Sagay condemns the bill and describes it as disgusting
Prof. Itse Sagay who is the chairman of the presidential advisory committee against corruption has lashed out at the Senate for making moves to reduce the powers of the Code of Conduct Bureau and the Code of Conduct Tribunal.

The Nigerian Senate on Thursday, April 14, passed the Code of Conduct act for second reading under less than 72 hours.

The bill is titled: a bill for an act to amend the Code of Conduct Bureau and tribunal act CAP C15 LFN 2004 and for other related matters, 2016.

The bill was sponsored by Peter Nwaoboshi representing Delta north senatorial district who said that the act does not contemplate criminal trial.

It has been speculated that the speedy passage of the bill is to save the Senate president, Bukola Saraki from the on-going trial he was facing which was brought against him by the agencies.

Sagay said the move by the senators to weaken the power of the agencies showed a lack of moral sense.

He said: “It’s a surprise to me, because I really don’t know that our mentality has degenerated to such a level of self-service that the people, who were sent to the National Assembly to make laws for the benefit of all Nigerians, have started a process that will allow a complete crisis; an Act that corruption cannot be prosecuted.

“To me, this is the highest level of shameless misconduct by the generality of the members of the red chamber. Obviously, there is no limit to the level of disgusting things they can do.”

Mr Femi Falana said the proposal was unreasonable as it was apparently being done because of Senator Saraki. He however pointed out that the amendment would not affect any on-going trial.

Falana said:“Any amendment of the law under the constitution cannot and will not have retrospective effect. The amendment will not have any effect on pending cases in court.

“The excuse being advanced for the devilish agenda is jejune because the CCT, whose members are screened for appointment by the Senate, cannot be said to be under the office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation.

“The proposed amendment also amounts to a conflict of interest because you cannot, because of one man, amend the law of the land. It will amount to an exercise in futility.”

The Senators who contributed to the debate of the bill at the National Assembly applauded it as good move.

The senators are: Dino Melaye, Barau Jubrin, Samuel Anyanwu, Biodun Olujimi, Buka Abba Ibrahim and Ibrahim Gobir
Yahaya Abdullahi who is the senator representing Kebbi north however cautioned the timing of the bill. He said Nigerians might think its passage is to frustrate the trial of Saraki at the same agencies.

“I just rise to raise a point of caution. I have read and gone through the areas where the amendments are sought and I am not against it, but what I have against is the timing.

“We must be ready on the issue of public perception about the position of the Senate in this regard.

“Perception can be reality, the Nigerian people can easily interprete the action we are taking today to mean that for all these years, a decree, which became law since 1991, is not being challenged until today because our principal officer is standing trial before the same tribunal

“I think for the credibility of this Senate, I think we should re-examine whether the timing is right for this bill to go through the second reading or not.”
Ike Ekweremadu who presided over the plenary argued that the bill has nothing to do with Saraki.
“Let me just say that this bill absolutely has nothing to do with the proceedings going on at the Code of Conduct Tribunal in which the Senate President is involved because his trial has commenced as you are aware.

“If you look at the commencement of the bill of the last paragraph, of course, on the bill which says ‘this bill may be sighted as a code of conduct bureau tribunal Act amendment bill, 2016’.

“That means that the bill is not being made retrospective as to affect the proceedings at the code of conduct tribunal; certainly it has nothing to do with it. We are only doing our work as parliamentarians.”

Naija Tori: Bayelsa state police Dey Threaten Governor Dickson

The Bayelsa state police command don send a letter to Governor Seriake Dickson warning him of the possible breach of security

The police warned the governor following the refusal of the state House of Assembly to swear-in three elected opposition members

The aggrieved opposition members asked for permission from the police to stage a mega rally at the Assembly
The Bayelsa state police command warned Governor Dickson of the possible breach of security in the state.

The Bayelsa state police command has sent a letter to Governor Seriake Dickson warning him of the possible breach of security in the state.

Following the refusal of the state House of Assembly to swear-in three elected opposition members, the police warned the governor of the consequences.

The Punch reports that the letter, which was dated April 11, 2016, and signed by Peter Ogunyanwo, the commissioner of the police, was made available to journalists in Yenagoa, the Bayelsa state capital, on Thursday, April 14.

“The members-elect, Alfred Belemote (All Progressives Grand Alliance, Brass2), ‎Gabriel Ogbara, (Africa Democratic Congress, Ogbia 2) and Gibson Munalayefa (Labour Party, Ogbia 2) said they were successful candidates in the state of House of Assembly election held on June 6, 2015 but the leadership of the Assembly has refused to swear them into office for normal legislative duties.

“The trio also alleged that one Kombowei Benson of the Peoples Democratic Party, whose election was just conducted on March 11, 2016, was sworn in immediately after winning election, whereas the same House has continuously denied them this right since 2015.

“In view of the aforesaid development, the Bayelsa police command is appealing to your Excellency to prevail on the speaker and the entire leadership of the state House of Assembly to swear in the three honourable members in the interest of peace and justice.

“This is to prevent fresh security ‎threat to the existing ones in Bayelsa state. It will also act as a demonstration and confirmation of your Excellency’s large and accommodating heart,”the letter read in part.

The aggrieved opposition members asked for permission from the police to stage a mega rally at the Assembly over the refusal of the House to swear them in as it was directed by the Court of Appeal siting in Port Harcourt, Rivers state, over two months ago.

Meanwhile, a group of former elected and appointed political office holders known as Bayelsa First Initiative blasted Dickson and Bensonover failure to swear in the lawmakers elected on the platform of opposition parties.

The group wrote a letter addressed to the leadership of the National Assembly and the attorney-general of the federation, calling on them to stop the impunity.
