A young Teen killed herself after man threatened to post her naked photos on Facebook

Mercy Bundi committed suicide after a foreigner lured her through Facebook and assaulted her, the family revealed on Monday, September 28. The 19-year-old college student left a suicide note in which she named the man and gave details of where he assaulted her and why she took her life.
"The day we met was the day my problems started. He was not the man I knew on Facebook," Mercy said in her suicide note.
She said she was traumatised after the man, who identified himself to her as Marco Ritz, threatened to post her naked photos online for the whole world to see.
"He took my nude pics and told me if I say this to anyone he will sell them on the internet and say I am a prostitute, she wrote.Mercy was too afraid to wait for that moment. On September 12, she was found dead in her bed, a bottle of poison by her side. Her Sh3,190, the suicide note and her phone were all by her side. Although she was born in Tanzania, she attended primary school in Kisii, joining Nyakach Girls High School but later transferring to St Michael’s School in Nakuru where she sat her KCSE exams in 2013. This year, she joined Bugema University in Uganda, where she died. Police are investigating the incident amid reports that there is an increase in insidious crimes that have left thousands of Kenyans suffering in silence.
Mercy joined the Facebook page, “Love beyond skin colour (white men and black women)”, where she met Marco. On September 9, he travelled to Kenya and sent money to Mercy, who was then in Kampala. Marco had claimed that he was from Trittenheim but lived in Berlicht, Germany. Mercy’s sister, Sarah Mauya Bundi, on Monday told the Nation that Mercy had travelled to Mombasa and met Marco there. She said she had warned Mercy against meeting the man and, in her suicide note, Mercy said she regretted not listening to her sister.
"As I am writing this, I cannot sit, eat or walk as normal. I am regretting not to listen to my sisters" the note continuesOn the day Mercy travelled to Mombasa, Marco posted a photo on Facebook, indicating that he was at the Kinondo Poa Hotel, near the Galu Kinondo Beach. On Monday, an assistant director at the hotel, Ms Laura Nanyuli, said Marco had been to the hotel twice in April and September this year with a woman whom he described as a lawyer and model. On his last visit, she said Marco did not spend the night in the hotel.
On September 11, Mercy travelled to Nairobi and spent a night in her sister’s house in Embakasi. She could hardly walk and was in pain but when asked what was the problem, she told her sister that she was having a bad dream. In her suicide note, however, she revealed that she was sexually assaulted for two days at a Mombasa hotel. After she travelled back to Kampala, she tried to contact Marco so that he could help her pay for treatment, in vain.
"I have tried to contact him for help to treat myself, he has blocked me in everywhere. I cannot face my sister and tell them I must rest because of him" says the suicide note. After her family was informed of her death, they flew the body to Nairobi on September 14 and reported the matter at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport police station. They also gave police a photo of the suspect, hoping that he would be arrested before he could leave the country. He wasn’t. Find attached the suicide note she left. I can't confirm the photo used.

The Catholic head will release his debut prog-rock album titled “Wake Up!” in November just after his tour traveling through the United States of America.
Rolling Stone reports that the 11-track album will feature a variety of songs, hymns and chants in several languages.
The title track single“Wake Up! Go! Go! Forward!” was premiered on Friday, September 25. The lyrical component is Pope’s speech in English, addressing a South Korean audience last year.
“Wake up, Wake up! The Lord speaks of a responsibility that the Lord gives you. It is a duty to be vigilant, not to allow the pressures, the temptations, and the sins to dull our sensibility of the beauty of holiness,” the Pope speaks on the track.
“No one who sleeps can sing, danceand rejoice,” he continues, urging his listeners to wake up and go.
On Wake Up!, Pope Francis address such important issues as peace, dignity, environmental concerns and helping those who are in need.
Don Giulio Neroni, Wake UP!’ producer and artistic director, set the Pope’s powerful messages to music.

Timi Alaibe erased from Bayelsa Governorship Race…See His Reason

One of the candidates vying for the Benue state governorship ticket on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, has pulled out.
Former Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, managing director, Timi Alaibe, has withdrawn from the Bayelsa state gubernatorial race, hence, pulling out of the rescheduled primary election of the All Progressives Congress.
Announcing his withdrawal in a press statement, Alaibe said he pulled out “to avoid a situation of crisis that the PDP might inadvertently reap from cannot be over emphasised.”
His statement read thus:
The virtuous path to take is that virtuous one in which personal interest are sacrificed for the common good, whether for the APC or the state in general. This is the path I chose in the light of the prevailing circumstances. I therefore withdraw from the governorship primary contest.
It is with all nostalgia that I recall the zeal, enthusiasm and hope with which thousands of Bayelsans made a statement in the direction of change in August, 2015. I can also vividly recall a mental replay of the occasion wherein a qualitative representation of the leadership of our great party, the All Progressives Congress ( APC) ushered in respected leaders and members from their then party, Peoples Democratic Party ( PDP) .
That singular event has been phenomenal just as its true meaning and direction have all exuded confidence, unity of purpose, cohesion, collectivism and courage. That day undoubtedly marked the beginning of a people’s journey from hopelessness and squandry as enunciated by the accidental PDP-led ‎government in Bayelsa state to that of quality leadership that an APC government will represent.
As one of such leaders who took that historic decision, I thought of giving a further bite to my burning desire to extricate the state from‎ abysmal leadership failure. Therefore, my aspiration to be governor after series of consultations was to rekindle our collective hope and lift the state beyond its current state of decay under the PDP.
Regardless, I am not oblivious of the fundamental fact that we all need a virile, united, cohesive and collaborative APC to bring about our desires to fruition. Not only do we need this, APC deserves every sacrifice, including personal interests, to arrive at the envisaged destination come February, 2016.
This is moreso that both as individual leaders and as a party, the need to avoid the a situation of crisis that the PDP might inadvertently reap from cannot be over emphasised.
As a result, having carefully examined the circumstances that have trailed the Governorship primaries of our great party in Bayelsa state, I have come to the conclusion that pushing my Governorship ambition beyond this point carries alongside it some collateral consequences.
Succinctly, two options are available to me. Whereas I am confident that I have the required support of my admirers and supporters‎ as well as the needed backing of Bayelsans to govern them, the hurdles set on the way of this noble project are seemingly temptous and capable of overheating the APC in Bayelsa.
In another vein, the virtuous path to take is that virtuous one in which personal interest are sacrificed for the common good, whether for the APC or the state in general. This is the path I chose in the light of the prevailing circumstances. I therefore withdraw from the governorship primary contest.
This decision is taken in the interest of our party especially as we face the task of the common challenge‎ of unseating the PDP in the state come December 5.
I thank you all and God bless.
Signed:
Ndutimi Alaibe

My husband did not support my re-election to the National assembly - Remi Tinubu

My husband never supported my re-election to the National assembly - Remi Tinubu

The Lawmaker representing Lagos Central Senatorial District, Senator Oluremi Tinubu has revealed that her re-election into the Senate did not get the backing of her husband, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu. She made this revelation on Tuesday September 29th during the "Women in Government’ conference organised by the South-West Region of the Department For International Development, DFID in collaboration with the Office of the Deputy Governor of Lagos State.
"Tinubu likes his wife to be at home and what is more confusing to me is that most Muslim men do not want their wives to work, but I am a hard worker.
The former Lagos State First Lady noted that it was her district leaders who got the form for her and talked her husband into allowing her to run for the position.
“People have been saying that I got to this position because I am Asiwaju’s wife. What they did not realise is that in the past election, my husband asked me not to go for a second term. It was the leaders in my district that got me the form and talked to him that they wanted me to go back. You can go to my district, the elites might not know me but the grassroots are the ones supporting and voting massively for me. I think that is enough for me and that is how you can get elected, you have to really identify with your people; if really know your people, they will stand up for you,’’ she stated.Tinubu noted that she worked hard in order to win the support of her constituency.
"When I got the bill to run for primaries, I told my husband that I needed money and he said no money. I fought with the people in my constituency because they said I have to give them more money and I said no, what about the ones I have been giving to you before? If you are not going to vote, so be it. They said that they were just voting for me because of Asiwaju and I responded that Asiwaju is not even supporting me, then, you can go and vote for him." She is however appreciative of their massive support.
"But I’m grateful they voted for me. I have realised that when you are elected, you have to go back and work with your constituency because that is where your support and vote rests,’’ she stated
